Huddah Monroe, Kenyan socialite has been known to carried the ‘bad girl’ label courageously and never apologizing for her action. She does what she wants as long as it makes her happy and some money, She has also been know to not back away from a fight and also doesn’t take any prisoners.
With that in mind this new makeup business woman as she often refers to herself was not shy to announce this month that got herself a breast enlargement plus some liposuction, the assumption is that after Big brother several years ago she has not been happy with the reviews her boobs have been getting, so she decided to do something about it.
Huddah refers her fans on Instagram to the Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeons Group where she spent a whooping $10,545 just for those boobs. Wow we be the make up industry must be booming. The irony is that her very own long time nemesis Vera Sadiki also recommended the same clinic in Beverly hill for plastic surgery earlier on, Could Huddah have gotten the hook up from her? What surgery did Vera Sadiki get?

Organising of Awards in Uganda is slowly becoming a trend and on Monday evening (the 27th of March), we saw The Uganda Music Awards (TUMA 2017) that were launched at a media briefing which took place at Serena Hotel’s Katonga Hall. With the theme ‘Changing the future of Ugandan music industry’, they will officially award Ugandan artistes in the Central, Northern, Western Eastern and Southern regions come Friday the 4th August 2017.
Hosted by Urban TV’s Denzel, the presser which was kicked off at 4PM with performances from singers Abaasa and Afrie enlightened the different journalists, stakeholders and artistes who were in attendance on the ‘uniqueness’ they have as opposed to other awards although they are not in stiff competition with them.
While addressing the journalists, Ikiriza Enock the team leader The Uganda Music Awards who was part of the four man group of experienced panelists in the Ugandan music industry, gave an insight of what they have in stock.
“We are not trying to do the traditional music awards type of thing, we wanted to be as genuine as we are but we are speaking as Ugandans to what this music says. We also wanted not be the Kampala music awards but Uganda Music awards, that means that it will have people from Northern, Eastern Uganda and everywhere.”
Ikiriza added talking about the uniqueness they boast off saying. “These awards are literally 100% about the music. It is not about who is big who is popular. It is awards show for musicians by musicians. We are not trying to compete with other awards but compliment them and cover an aspect that seems to be left out.”
The panel had people like Moses Matovu of Afrigo Band, Isaac Rucci and Dembe FM’s Eddie Ssendi who had some remarks they made concerning awards in Uganda and the entire Ugandan Music industry.
What is unique about these awards is that, the fans will be the ones to nominate their favourite artistes in the 18 categories. All you need to do is go to play store and type ‘TUMA Uganda’ for Android and download it as they look forward to work on users using Windows and Apple handsets.
In a bid to make the entire process familiar to the fans and the artistes, organisers will have activations in Mbale, Gulu, Mbarara and Masaka to allow room for artistes in those regions to take part. The nominations are already open and they will close on 21st April. On 12th May, the nominees will be unveiled at a party and voting will begin at midnight that day and close on 21st July.
This is how to nominate an artiste in The Uganda Music Award Tuma

Uganda Cranes captain Geoffrey Massa has called it quits with international football after achieving his dream of helping the Uganda Cranes qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) that happened a few months ago in Gabon. The 31 year old made his decision after consulting with his family. “I have decided to retire from International football after consulting with my family and I believe it’s the right time to start a new chapter.” he said.
Although he has retired from the national side, Geoffrey Massa will continue playing his professional football with South African Premier Soccer League side Baroka.

We were the first to break the news that world renowned DJ Diplo was set for a mega show in Uganda and we are even breaking more because the producer/Dj will have the show sooner rather than later.
21st April is the date the American mixer will be turning the heat up in the Pearl of Africa and all this will be happening at Golf Course Hotel.
Thomas Wesley Pentz better known as Diplo, is one of the most dynamic forces in the music industry today. A superstar DJ, sought after producer, label owner and the wizard behind Major Lazer. The Grammy award winner has unprecedented career that has taken him from the outer fringes of club culture to the top of Pop’s A list.
Diplo is the one of the most in demand producers in the music industry; he has produced massive hits for numerous A list artists including Justin Beiber, Madonna, MIA, Beyonce, Usher, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Britney Spears, Iggy Azalea, Sean Paul, 2 Chainz, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown and many more. Diplo has created a unique blend of electronic dance music fused with pop, reggae, dancehall and hip hop. Major Lazer is Diplo’s outlet for his lifelong love of Jamaican dancehall music.
Diplo produced Major Lazer’s single ‘Lean On’ which took the world by storm, becoming the most successful independently released song of all time after peaking at number 1 on the Top 40 chart, becoming the most streamed song on Spotify of all time with more than 673 million streams to date, is currently the #1 most played track on Sound Cloud, and became one of only a handful of videos to reach 1 billion views on YouTube and the 7th most watched video of all time. “Lean On” is certified six times Platinum.
Ever since the Ugandan version of E!’s Fashion police, Style Project was aired it has faced a lot of scrutiny from the views and fellow broad casters. Some said it was just a platform used to hate on fashion achievers and other likened it to Ubarn Tv’s ‘Scoop on scoop’.
Regardless the show survived and went one to air till to date, most likely because they kept the panel of fashion critics interesting yet retaining the main person, Sylvia Owori. The show has taken a new interesting twist as news reaching our desks is that, there has been a rift between the Producers of the show and the host, Ms Sylvia Owori.
We have attached the press release her team put together which includes phrases like “I and the executives at the station regrettably couldn’t concur with each other on what in my capacity (as a pivotal part of the show) thought was vital in making the show even better in the future.”
And “That style has been instrumental in making the show successful but alas I found that atmosphere was suddenly unfortunately vanishing to my regret. Equally important is my long-term desire to concentrate on pushing for sustainable growth of other arms of fashion and all its related industries in Uganda.” Then lastly a promise, “I will therefore take this time to continue to reflect in order to be able to comeback with an even more elaborate, widespread and ultimately greater show in the near future. “
This document has left us with more questions than answers such as;
- What exactly transpired between Sylvia and the NTV management?
- Was it really her decision to leave?
- What new show is she bringing, and will it be at NTV or elsewhere?
- What will she do now that she won’t have the show?
- Lastly who is taking over The style Project?
You can’t mention football without the name Ronaldo popping up and despite the fact that there are two prominent Ronaldo(s), the younger one who is also known as Cristiano Ronaldo and hails from Portugal dominates more because of his personal achievements.
The Real Madrid star is continuing to dominate the headlines as he is going to be honoured in his home town of Madeira in Portugal with an airport named after him.
It is understood that the local government from his home island of Madeira is contemplating on coming up with a grand plan to have the Aeroporto Da Madeira named after him and work got underway over the weekend to get the necessary signatures for the honouring to happen.
Ronaldo already has a museum, two hotels and a statue already with his name and if this is accomplished, he will be the most decorated footballer ever off pitch and his name is already in the league of Portugal’s greatest footballers with the likes of Luis Figo and Eusebio.
- Tempra Omona is one of Uganda’s veteran artistes known for his popular song ‘Nen Awene’
- He returned from USA to resume on his music career which had taken a twist abroad
- His latest song “Gulu’ is first spreading on airwaves across Northern region where he hails from.
For those of you who may have followed Uganda’s music and entertainment industry in the early 2000’s, there was then a big name artiste called Tempra Omona with the biggest local hit then ‘Nen Awene’ (when will I see you again?) which dominated the airwaves across the country and region. You could have caught up with him at Karaoke places in Kampala like Sabrina’s Pub on Bombo road or DV8 behind the famous Cineplex Cinema.
Tempra had just created a unique style of contemporary African music that blended elements of Afro-beat, zouk, lingala and Caribean sounds which was widely accepted in the East African region. That song to date remains one of the most popular Ugandan songs to ever be produced locally. By then the likes of Jose Chameleone and Bebe Cool were also ambitious upcoming young artistes.
Tempra who is an artiste, songwriter and video director then moved to the States and stayed in New York for some time doing music and business before returning about 5 years back to resume the project he started as a 10-year old and is so passionate about. He was inspired in his early life by Bobby Brown and later R.Kelly which probably influenced his first RnB style and genre earlier in his career..
One of the reasons’ the soft spoken man from Gulu packed his bags to return home was mainly to build on his brand and sell his philosophy and identity to the fans, the way he believed it should be and where else to do that than home?
So when he returned in 2012, he silently embarked on the mission to achieve this dream. It involved hard work, discipline and patience as the dynamics of Uganda’s music industry had changed from what he had experienced before going to the United States Of America.
He had identified what he wanted and all that was left were the nitty-gritty of production. His music is Africa and done in Luo and many people especially from the North always identified with it and he believes music itself is a language and can be embraced any where regardless of language it is composed in.
So when he finally decided to pay back his ardent fans from his home-base Gulu, he composed a song titled ‘Gulu’ which swept them off their feet as soon as it hit the air waves. The velvet-voiced song bird has touched and melted the hearts of many with this magic song now playing in night clubs and radio stations across the Northern region.
‘Gulu’ is a mellow fusion of R&B, African sounds and blues which I wrote between 2007 and 2008 when I was still living in New York City. I was very specific about who could produce it but wasn’t sure. But I needed someone who understands the home market, there was no American. So in 2011 when I was returning home for the first time after a decade, I looked for one of my favourite earlier producers David Mukalazi (legendary producer/keyboardist) fortunately he had returned from UK. It was great, so when I landed, I went straight to him and we started working”. Tempera explained to www.chano8.com in an exclusive interview.
However when Mukalazi got tied up, the project was put on hold until he met Charlie King (Swahili Nation) in 2015. Charlie was willing to make a contribution in Tempra’s career after liking his works. After listening to a couple of demos, he settled on ‘Gulu’ and 5 other songs which impressed him the most and straight away kicked off on a mission to produce something great.
“He called in superstar guitarist Marshal Edgar and scheduled next day…. He guided him through what he wanted played. Charlie King took my project with pride and made it his own, In the next weeks and months Charlie would work tirelessly producing, deleting, reproducing again and again till he was satisfied he kept sending me different versions. When he finally was satisfied, I was more than satisfied. He then handed me the work to go mix, which I did with producer SKILLZ and finally released early this year 2017”. He narrated.
And what is in this special song that Tempra and the people of Gulu cherish so much?
“In this song, I portray pride in Gulu, as a son of the soil, I convey a message of endurance, protection of future generations and the beauty of home, family, relatives etc. It has struck Gulu fans on the right note. It’s one of my most talked about songs online, on radio and most shared in WhatsApp groups. I am truly proud of this one song.”He concluded.

What started as a peaceful relationship between Frank Gashumba and NBS TV has turned into a disagreement over the rumours that are circulating all over social media in which the Sisimuka proprietor is said to have corned some Ugandans.
Because of his immense following, Frank Gashumba was tasked to be among the panellists on a programme on NBS that had started picking up but on Sunday, the motor mouth panellist didn’t show up at the program and we later got to know that he was told to step aside so that they can carry out investigations whether he’s a conman and to also make some changes to the show.
Frank Gashumba and Basajja Mivule were the panellists on the show without a distinct moderator. NBS thus introduced Mr. Simon Muyanga as a moderator but Gashumba was not happy with the development.
“After several successful episodes, we decided to enlist the service of Mr. Simon Muyanga as a moderator to give viewers more value. The current format hardly differentiates who the panellist and moderator is, and it is in this spirit that we realised the need for someone to direct the show as per the standards of all our shows. Mr. Frank Gashumba was not happy with this proposal and first opted out. He however, decided to reconsider the proposal.” wrote Pamela Adongo, Chief Marketing Officer NBS TV.
She later added that allegations of fraud led to the two parties taking different paths.
But on the other hand, Gashumba claimed that he had opted out of the show because Uganda Communications Commission muted his efforts to express himself the way he wanted.

Yes we were not colonized by France but our friendship with the European country in indispensable in that there is a long week celebration every year to cement that friendship.
But the climax of that ceremony happened last Saturday at Namboole stadium where Uganda’s football national team (Uganda cranes) played a friendly game against the French military team. Despite their loss (3-1), the military team put up a very good performance.
The Ugandan side was given a trophy for their victory and what better way to end the evening than having a musical performance by some of Uganda’s selling artistes.
The line up of artistes was what the crowd needed and it was Bebe Cool who was on stage first, doing songs like ‘Azina Aseka’, ‘Na Na Na Na’, ‘Sente’, Love You Every Day and ‘Kabulengane’. He even invited the French ambassador to Uganda who pulled some rare strokes to the delight of the fans.
Navio was next and he came on with songs such as ‘Ngalo’, ‘Njogereza’ and ‘Tumunonye’. Helen Lukoma followed but she didn’t make much on an impact until Queen Sheebah came on stage and lit it up with ‘Ndiwanjawulo’, ‘Nkwatako’, ‘The way’, ‘Tunywe and her new release ‘Bamusakata’.
To finalise the event was Eddy Kenzo and his energetic performance alongside the Ghetto Kids who got the crowd screaming their lungs out. ‘Sitya loss’, ‘Mbilo mbilo’ and ‘Jubilation’ are the other songs he performed.

Business in the taxi park was brought to a standstill over the weekend after the UBL Red Card ambassadors stormed the grounds to preach responsible drinking. Clad in navy blue shorts, the Red Card ambassadors went to the new, old and Namirembe taxi parks engaging with the players in the public transport sector.
In a bid to discourage drink driving and reduce drunk driving incidences, Uganda Breweries Limited has for the past years run campaigns against drunk driving. They have engaged with people in bars at points of consumption and also had trainings on responsible drinking.
While at the park, the ambassadors gave tips on responsible alcohol consumption and urged the drivers not to get behind the while under the influence of alcohol.
Commenting on why they took the training to the public transport sector, Rhona Arinaitwe, UBL Communications Manager said, taxi drivers are sometimes involved in drunken driving incidences and cannot be left out; especially as public transport is a form of designated driving.
- Ugandan youngster wins first ever gold medal for the country at the world cross country.
- President Yoweri Museveni and first lady Janaet Kataha Museveni in the crowd that cheered the home team
- Team Uganda finished 3rd overall
Once again someone pops up to make Uganda prous and this time it is none other than youngster Jacob Kiplimo who made history by winning Uganda’ first ever gold in yesterday’s IAAF Cross Country Championships.
Kiplimo who put up a stellar performance in the men’s U20 race got the whole country on their feet with chief guest President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni watching from the pavilion alongside First lady Mama Janet Kataha Museveni who also doubles as the minister of education and sports.
Kiplimo who won bronze at last year’s event presented Uganda’s best chance at winning gold and indeed the youngster did not disappoint especially on a day when Kenyans and Ethiopians dominated other races clocking 22:40 in the 8km race and also fielded strong squards for this particular race.
Kiplimo after breaking off from the pack continued his run on the last bend cheered on by the home crowd that had massively turned up for the event despite a hot afternoon in Kampala. Amdework Walelegn gave it a push but could not get closer to the home boy with Kenyans Edwin Kiplangat Bett and Amos Kirui finishing in 3rd and fourth respectively.
The president who was visibly impressed with Kiplimo’s performance then congratulated him and Kiplimo told the press that he knew he was going to pull it off.
“Yes yes yes, I always thought I could win. It was a very good race. When I decided to break away going into the last lap, I knew I was going to win.” Kiplimo said after the win
Ethiopia won the team race with 17 points, Kenya second, Eritrea 3rd with Uganda finishing fourth. However overall, Uganda scored good points in the team arena finishing third after Kenya and Ethiopia winning 1 gold and 2 bronze medals.

If it comes to shooting and directing Big Size Bebe Cool’s videos, Savy Filmz’s Sasha Vybz has never disappointed and one live example is the ‘Byebyo’ video. Well, another brand new video for the Gagamel Phamily boss’ ’18 & Over’ tune has already hit the airwaves and if you are above 18 years , this is one to watch out for.
About the audio
Produced by Elli Arkhis, ‘18 & Over’ is an Afrobeat love song in which Bebe explains how he loves a girl but her mother is not happy with their relationship. He commends the girl’s sexy body and promises to do for her everything like taking her to Paris city, buying her a nice car and building for her a fine house.
The 2 minutes and 56 seconds video starts with a pool side scene that shows Bebe Cool introducing the song alongside ‘the girl of his love’ who appears in pink swim suit. The video director shifts the viewer’s attention where the girl dives into the swimming pool plus showing us the beautiful green vegetation surrounding the venue of the video shoot which brings a whole natural feeling to video.
More scenes show Bebe Cool and the girl sharing light moments as he rides her on a quad bike in the gardens enclosed by the thick forest and later play games with her which hooks the our eyes to end. Another eye-catching moment is when the girl flaunts her curvaceous body in all angles, clad in a hugging black dress.
In the some of the concluding shots, the two go to a reserved place which looks a date as we see them eating some food. With all the love, Bebe Cool feeds the girl and vice versa. The same scene also shows other couples on dates and they are we see them exchanging rings and kissing before joining Bebe and his date at the camp fire which appears as the most interesting shot in video.
Basing on the fact that it is a love song, the video shows the love connection between Bebe Cool and the girl. The kissing and exchanging of rings the other people appearing the video also adds a serious meaning to the video.

When he distanced himself from rumors that he was slated for a show in Uganda, Trevoh Noah didn’t know what was coming for him. He underestimated Ugandans when it comes to Social media. They showed him that he can swallow his words and pride and change his mind on his earlier claims.
He had earlier said that the rumors regarding his show in Uganda were scam and that he wouldn’t be coming over but by the time the sun set earlier on Saturday, the South African comedian had already taken to his twitter handle and accepted defeat. ‘Ok Uganda, you win’ he wrote. ‘I’ll try to visit sometime. But when I land, I want the original Rolex made by Sula in Wandegeya,” He concluded his tweet.
This followed the #Trevor Noah visits Uganda that trended on Friday with all sorts of memes. The origin being the press conference last week organised by Sheer Solutions Africa led by Patrick Salvado Idringi to announce the first-ever Uganda International Music and Culture week that will take place from October 29th to November 4th.
But the question is, who is Sula that makes Rolex in Wandegeya?. Where did Trevor Noah get that name? Well this shouldn’t be hard to answer after all because one of the producers of his Daily show is a Ugandan named Joseph Opio. He must have told him a lot about Uganda and the rolex.
- Vettel stuns Hamilton with win in Melbourne.
- He named his new car “Gina”
- He plans to try and keep ferrari in the lead.
Formula One returned last weekend with a bang and a surprise win when Sebastian_Vettel won in Melbourne. After shadowing pole sitter Hamilton throughout the race’s opening stages, Vettel leapfrogged the silver car at the first round of stops. From there the German never looked back, taking the chequered flag almost 10 seconds clear to clinch Ferrari’s first win since Singapore 2015, with team mate Kimi_Räikkönen fourth.
Lewis_Hamilton won the start, leaving Vettel to chase him, but the Mercedes had consumed its ultra soft Pirelli tires after 17 laps, whereas Vettel managed to get his to the 22nd lap before making his sole pit stop. Hamilton ought still to have been able to regain the lead, but he came out of the pits behind Max Verstappen’s fifth placed Red Bull, and simply could not pass it despite running on fresher rubber.
Thus Vettel was able to make his stop and emerge still in the lead, to the chagrin of Mercedes. Thereafter, there was no stopping Ferrari, who made up for fumbling what should have been victory here last year by setting out their stall for all to see. Hamilton did what he could, while coping with what he thought might be a floor problem and some intermittent power surges, which meant he also, had to keep an eye on team mate Bottas who, having fallen well behind the two leaders in the opening stages, was coming back strongly in the second half of the race.
In the end, though, there was no way either could challenge the red car, as Ferrari scored a hugely important victory which ushered in the new era of F1 in the most popular way, as far as many fans round the world were concerned. Raikkonen never gave the top three a moment’s concern and finished a distant and noncompetitive fourth, challenged at one stage by Verstappen until he woke up and set the fastest lap on the penultimate tour.
The ‘unretired’ Felipe Massa was a likewise lonely sixth for Williams as Sergio Perez just kept his Force India ahead of a charging Carlos Sainz’s Toro Rosso, and the Spaniard’s Russian team mate Daniil Kvyat. Tenth place fell to Esteban Ocon after a heady dust-up with Fernando Alonso, who had kept his noncompetitive McLaren in the final points-scoring position for lap after lap until a suspension problem enabled both Ocon and the Renault of a closing Nico Hulkenberg to pass him in one corner on the 52nd lap. As Alonso retired, Pascal Wehrlein stand-in Antonio Giovinazzi made an excellent F1 debut with Sauber to take 12th place ahead of a struggling Stoffel Vandoorne, who at least finished in his McLaren MCL32.
The other retirements included the Haas cars of Romain Grosjean, who fell from seventh with suspected engine failure, and Kevin Magnussen who crashed with Sauber’s Marcus Ericsson on the opening lap and later suffered suspension failure; Ericsson, whose engine broke; Daniel Ricciardo, who joined the race on the second lap after starting from the pits following a sensor problem on his way to the grid which jammed his Red Bull in sixth gear, then went out with suspected engine failure; Jolyon Palmer whose Renault had persistent brake problems; and Williams rookie Lance Stroll, who jumped from 20th to 14th on the opening lap but later suffered brake problems too.
Vettel thus leads the drivers’ points table with 25 points to Hamilton’s 18, Bottas’ 15, Raikkonen’s 12, Verstappen’s 10, Massa’s eight, Perez’s six, Sainz’s four, Kvyat’s two and Ocon’s one. Ferrari head the constructors’ stakes with 37 points to Mercedes’ 33, as Red Bull have 10, Williams eight, Force India seven and Toro Rosso six.
For the first time in more than four years Ferrari lead the Formula 1 drivers championship, after Sebastian Vettel beat Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton on merit in the opening race of 2017. The German says Mercedes remain the benchmark, but believes his performance shows the Scuderia are ready to take on the Silver Arrows of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas…
‘I would say for the first time she was fantastic! Hopefully this is the beginning of a big love affair! (Laughs) Today felt very exceptional – especially after the difficult 2016 season, and a hard winter when a lot of heart and soul from all of us going into this car. The long nights and hard work were finally rewarded’ Vettel said during an interview.
‘Of course it was key. After the start we understood that this wasn’t going to be a walk in the park but the overall pace was good and that triggered our hopes. I was able to keep up the pressure on Lewis – and he pitted first with the risk of getting into traffic, and that is what happened. Of course that played into our hands. But the most important thing was our pace was good – and the tyres lasted. That is why I was able to stay in front.’ He mentioned.
Those who remember Pallaso real names Pius Mayanja when he was still calling himself Lizard will agree with us that there is a big difference in the music he was doing. Could it be because of the long time he spent in Donald Trump land? We cannot tell. However, one thing we are sure of is that Pallaso has learnt a lot from his big brother Dr Jose Chameleone.
In a confession the self proclaimed King Of The East (K.O.T.E) shared on one of his social media platforms, he openly said that no matter how he gets big in the music industry, Chameleone is still like a stepping stone for him and other big artistes in Uganda and East Africa at large.
“No matter how big the name Pallaso gets, it will never be in position to ever come before Chameleone. #The legend of Chameleone. He identified East African music to the world. We all came after his greatness and can’t ignore how much our all generation was raised by him and we all joyfully admired his art. It raised us.” Pallaso disclosed.
In his concluding remarks, Pallaso who has a new song dubbed ‘Kampala’ wrote of how he and other artistes watched and borrowed a leaf from his art of doing music and finalised with calling upon East Africans not to miss Chameleone’s upcoming Hit After Hit concert slated for June.
“We watched with a kin eye his every move and his heavenly blessing has breeded(sic) over 90% of the people we now call our stars. @jchameleone you have set the bar. Legend hit After Hit Lugogo cricket Oval. This is a concert every East African should not miss June 30th mark your dates.” Pallaso concluded.

Uganda is among the countries that people love visiting these days. Just last week, French Montana and Swae Lee were in the country where they even shot a video with ‘Sitya Loss’ kids but on Wednesday, we also received another guest but this one was not an ordinary visitor but a two time world Guinness book of records holder and artiste.
Mano Enzo, a German-based Nigerian artiste was in Uganda for two days in what he termed as a media tour.
He met with Ugandan bloggers, newspapers, websites and also appeared on programmes like the Beat among others to widen his fan base across the East African Region as he has already strengthened his name in Europe and the Western region. Yes, the competition didn’t get good coverage but Uganda received some good headlines after winning Gold in the just concluded floor Hockey tournament that has been happening in Austria.
Team Uganda beat Bangladesh 2-1 in the finals at the Special Olympics World Winter games 2017 in Graz, Austria yesterday. It wasn’t an easy game according to a source who also said that the boys gave it their all.
“Despite Uganda not having winter, the boys put up a good display since the tournament began and have been on a winning streak until the finals. In the finals, they even received support from other countries because of their good display.” said our source.
And besides the triumph, the Ugandan team walked onto the field with Ykee Benda and Sheebah’s ‘Farma’ remix playing in the background. Even though most people in the crowd apart from the few Ugandans knew the message behind the song, they danced to it as if they know it word for word.
Tomorrow marks a week since the Club Music Video awards came to pass at a glamorous Blue Carpet function that took place in Kampala Serena Hotel’s Victoria Hall. We saw a lot of things from the attendees’ fashion, the awarding session that saw little known artistes Abaasa and Patrobas bag the most awards and the Blue Carpet which was the most anticipated.
However, like an experienced host of red carpet events, Urban TV’s Live on Red Carpet host Kabs Halloha made his own remarks on how the blue carpet went down
“Red carpet came all the way from 1902 when the New York central railroad used to plush crimson carpets to direct people as they boarded their 20th century passenger train. Walking on the red carpet used to be a very big thing and lately it has been destroyed yet it’s a way to honor gods, dignitaries and prominent personalities. I believe there is no Glamour without a red carpet. A red carpet is the genesis of glam.”
Halloha was however gave a round of applause to some of the key figures who dress to kill at the Blue Carpet
“On that note there was no glamour at all at the CMVAS however, on the other hand I do respect whatever intentions, motives and objectives Club had as a company. All the fashion is put to waste with no red carpet. Red carpet is glam, red carpet is pomp. But besides all that a big thank you those that dressed to Kill namely Sheila Gashumba, Myself, Ahumuza Brian, and the Queen of glam in Uganda Malaika Nnyanzi , she never disappoints.”
