For someone spending 39 good years in exile, nothing would beat the joy that grows in their heart especially if they are set for a mega home-coming. Oryema will be the headlining act come D-day and is expected to put up a splendid performace considering he is eagerly awaiting to step on home soil for the first time in a long time. However, the Bayimba Honours platform is not recognising him alone but will also boast of showcases from KSO, Luga Flow Veteran Babaluku and Julius Lugaaya.
“Hello Uganda, My name is Geoffrey Oryema from the land of Anaka, I can’t express how happy and greatly honoured I am to be coming home to my motherland to perform for you. Hellen Lukoma just might be organizing her Genesis fashion shows with a reflection of her personality; to be as creative as daring. The model cum actress lit up Cayenne Bar and Restaurant in Bukoto last night with a powerful serving of the works of various designers, many of which were so bold that they raised as many brows as they received standing ovations. The event started at around 8pm, with guests being ushered onto the red carpet. Many of the ladies cut a retro old school look, while most men stepped out in casual soiree outfits. The night’s host Malaika Nyanzi was quick to warm them with stereotype jokes and soon all were settled in, ready to see yet another display of art through fashion.
Lukoma’s surprising creativity was pronounced right from the start. As the lady of the night, one would have expected her to be the last to showcase-but no! Helen chose not to wait for the whole crowd, but to give her earliest guests the priority. She was the first to showcase, and nailed it as usual, if the ululations and ovations from the crowd were anything to go by. The other designers too seemed to have picked a leaf. They showcased gowns and wedding attire, jewelry and black and white themed outfits. Among these were Kaz Divo Fashions, Linda Butera Mulira (Nunu) of Omuringa designs, Miriam Muziranange of Momo Designs and Guy B.
The most eye catching was Nina Mirembe’s Gypsy collection. Having hyped the audience satisfactorily, Malaika ushered in Nina’s models, and they were all dressed in provocative lingerie, that was hand stitched by Nina herself! The showing that amount of flesh caught many off guard and an aura of surprise loomed all over the place. However, the models skillfully and playfully worked their way around it, and soon the surprise was turned to intrigue and by the final model, the crowd was totally overwhelmed.
The show was punctuated with performances from Alvin Keys who hailed Lukoma as a “diverse and daring designer”, Ykee Bender of the ‘Nimiro’ and ‘Munakampala’ fame as well as a cloth changing dance from Alex popper. Malaika then called upon all the designers who gave the fans a runway moment, much to cheers and claps. Lukoma sealed the show by thanking her fans for diligently coming for her show, before opening the place out for partying till late.

Wednesday Afternoon, blows were almost exchanged between Laftaz comedy lounge owners and officials from The Uganda Performing Right Society (UPRS) who wanted to confiscate their machines alleging that they don’t have the rights to play Ugandan music.
The officials arrived at the hangout at mid-day along with some bouncers, good enough; they found two shareholders Dolibondo and Jona at the premises who first reasoned with the officials before things got out of hand.
According to Jona, it’s the musicians who bring their music at the lounge to be promoted. “What rights do you have to confiscate our machines? On whose behalf are you working on because as far as I’m concerned, Ugandan musicians are the ones who come to this bar with their music to promote it.” Jona said.
The UPRS representatives couldn’t give an explanation as they straight away ordered the heavily built bouncers to start taking the speakers, microphones and other portable machines that are used to play music.
Jona and his company couldn’t allow this to happen and both parties started throwing insults at each other for close to 30 minutes.
It was finally agreed that Jona and other shareholders go to UPRS offices and resolve the matter from there before next week.
It sure looks like MC Kats is seriously considering artiste management as his next job after Television because the rate at which he is signing artistes is really increasing by the day.
After taking on Ray Signature, the NBS ‘After 5’ presenter according to news we have just received, has also signed dance-hall artiste Rabadaba under his management.
Kats real names Katamba Edwin confirmed this last evening at Coco Bar in Ntinda where he had gone to emcee. After doing what was required of him, Kats took the opportunity to break the news after which, he gave the microphone to the new recruit who performed songs like ‘Love portion’, ‘Mukyamu as well as ‘Body’ with Jody.
It looks like Kats wants to emulate Team No Sleep boss Jeff Kiwa who is soon retiring from artiste management and wants to leave it all for his young brother Allan Kiwa. So because of the success Jeff has seen in this industry after managing big brands like Chameleon, Radio and Weasel, Pallaso and Sheeba among others, Kats thinks he can do exactly what Jeff has done.
His admiration for Rabadaba goes way back when the artiste was still signed to UG Records but didn’t have the stability to sign him then because he was one of the most sought after artistes. But now, since he is also trying to revive his career, Rabadaba thinks Kats is the right man to help him do so.

Bad Black’s CV is one heavy one mostly laden with controversy. She was a socialite, then musician, pastor and business woman but what transpired earlier today might perhaps be her worst nightmare ever since she transformed both her life and skin color.
Bad Black was put inside the coolers this morning after her maid opened up a case against her at a police post in Entebbe.
It was reported that Bad Black has NOT been paying her maid for over a year now and that she owes her a sum of 2million shillings.
After the case was opened up, the police went straight to Black’s house where they found her resting. She was picked up and detained at Abayita Ababiri Police post along Entebbe road for some hours before she cleared the outstanding salary.
But on realizing that journalists were waiting for her outside the police cells, Bad Black real names Shanitah Namuyimba is said to have paid the police to stop the press from taking her photos.
It is at this point that, they swung in action and chased away all of them with some even sustaining minor injuries in the process.
This has been the second time in four years that Black has been put behind bars but for someone who is alleged to have embezzled over 11billion shillings to refuse to pay 2million to someone who offers a service is simply despicable.
The FOMO is building and hype is sky-rocketing as the biggest end- of- year party – The Purple Party Is around the corner. The party organised by NTV’s Douglas Lwanga, is happening this weekend on Sunday December 11th at the Uganda Museum in Kitante and this year’s edition dubbed the ‘All VIP Half a decade celebration’ is going to be a family affair.
According to Lwanga, Purple Party is strictly a celebration of Ugandan music and therefore there will be no headlining acts coming from abroad and instead 200 local talents from across the country has been lined up to grace the day and party with the fans.
“Just like in previous editions, there will be no international artistes to headline the party because it is a celebration of Ugandan music. We are also giving a chance for our artistes with whom we have worked to shine and interact with their fans” Lwanga told Chano8 in an inclusive interview.
This edition sponsored by SMS ONE, www.chano8.com , NTV, KFM Club Music among others, will have a combination of the crème de la crème as well as upcoming talent from across the country selected from the regional Purple Party tours in Jinja, Mbarara, Lira and Gulu. This will be the biggest party and therefore blended with top DJs, MCs, dancers and comedians. So the idea is to involve all stake holders in the entertainment industry.
Lwanga also says this will be an all-inclusive family edition where children will be part of the party and a fun experience they will not forget. It is natural that children too enjoy entertainment and therefore will be catered for with a special play area and children’s section sponsored by Mixakids Newspaper with several activities ranging from bouncing castles, face painting to board games.
Entry fee is 10,000/= for children and 20,000/= for adults and VIP is 100,000/=. The full program for the day’s activities will be released soon and Chano8 will keep you updated.
Yesterday the very gorgeous ‘Boss Lady’ put to birth a bouncing baby now named Riaz Dangote boy at Netcare Hospital in Pretoria, South Africa on Wednesday, December 6. This is her second child with the one of East Africa’s best artists Diamond Platinumz. The socialite got social media wagging with this news up to date with the fans congratulating her and literally thirsting for pictures of the new born.
Zari gave Diamond the first Child last year in August, Princess Tiffah Dangote and now just a year after; she has given him a bouncing baby boy. This paints a picture of a big family now considering it is her 5th child but we all know that Zari takes her motherhood role as serious as her looks. Congratulations Diamond Platinumz and Zari Hassan.
Information we are getting is that Singer Jose Chameleon’s wife and mother of her children Daniela Atim is the sole beneficiary of her late gurdian’s property worth millions.
The late Father Scalabrini adopted Daniela ever since she was a little girl and from then, she had always considered him a father until his passing three months ago.
The latest is that Daniela is the sole inheritor of the Priest’s multi-billion shillings social-business empire which includes schools, hospitals, charitable construction company, and real estates, among others.
Controlled through the Emmaus Foundation, Father John Scalabrini entrusted his empire to his daughter who will be in charge with immediate effect.
And this came after the being best friends besides being father and daughter. It is even reported that Daniela was always by his side during his last days on earth.

No one thought this would happen. No one thought that an artiste who was rejected back then because of her luck of talent, because of her indecent dressing, because of her looks could actually turn out to be arguably the best Ugandan artiste in 2015 and this was further cemented after she broke Africana’s attendance record last Friday evening.
Sheebah Karungi from Team No Sleep did what few artistes like Geofrey Lutaya, Bobi Wine, Goodlyf and David Lutalo had previously done and why it has to be put into consideration is because she’s the first female artiste to fill Africana to the extent that people who already had tickets were denied entry due to the fact that the venue was full to capacity and this was during her ‘Nkwatako album launch’.
By 6pm, people were already streaming into the venue and by 10pm, all the gates were closed with hundreds still stuck outside. And different from other events, almost everyone paid to watch Sheebah including a few journalists who were supposed to cover the event.
Before Sheebah came on stage, a chance was given to other artistes to perform on this historic day and they too didn’t disappoint. Roden Y, Chozen, Diamong Oscar, Fefe Busi, Desire Luzinda, Rema, Aziz Azion, Mesach Ssemakula and Bebe Cool all showed their support to Sheeba who’s performance was preceded by a video clip in which she explained her musical journey.
At first people were touched to hear her story but after ten minutes, the audience grew impatient and started indicating that time was being wasted. This prompted the UB5 band to starting playing their instruments, after which Sheebah along with her dancers took to the stage.
She did songs like ‘Jordan’, Automatic, By the way, Ice Cream, go down low, Kisasi Kimu and the title album track ‘Nkwatako’ all these and others in two sessions.
The former Obsessions dancer knows how to work the crowd as they responded well on every song she did. At one point, she instructed them to light up their torches in honor of her fallen friend and fellow TNS artiste AK47 and they gladly adhered.
The football world has been in mourning ever since Brazilian club Chapecoense were involved in serious plane crash that took most of their players and some officials. In a gesture of fair play, the team has been awarded the Copa Sudamericana title by South American football confederation Conmebol after most of their team died in a plane crash en route to the final.
Last Monday Seventy-one people, including 19 players and staff, were killed in a serious plane crash as the team headed to Colombia for the first leg of what would have been their biggest soccer achievement.
The soccer world has since been sending tributes, inacial and emotional support to the team with Colombian opponents Atletico Nacional asking Conmebol to award Chapecoense the trophy, have been given a Fair Play award to acknowledge their “spirit of peace, understanding and fair play”.
Chapecoense will be given the $2m (£1.57m) in prize money while Atletico Nacional will receive $1m (£787,000) and as Sudamericana champions, Chapecoense get a guaranteed spot in next year’s Copa Libertadores, South America’s equivalent of the Champions League.
Three Chapecoense players were among six people to survive the crash as investigations continue into the cause of the accident although a recording suggests the plane was out of fuel moments before the crash outside Medellin.
The small Brazilian city of Chapeco held a massive funeral on Saturday after the victims’ coffins arrived home, each draped in the club’s green and white flag. Following the aftermath, 13,000 people have applied to become club members in just two days.
Brazil’s leading football clubs have pledged to loan players to Chapecoense for free and asked for them to be safeguarded from relegation from the top flight for the next three seasons while former Brazil and Barcelona forward Ronaldinho and ex-Argentina international Juan Roman Riquelme have reportedly offered to play for the club.

Malaika Nnyanzi is pretty much the perfect definition of a fashionista. For everyone with an elevated sense of style, this gorgeous diva has been everyone’s style crush this year. This TV girl is the 2016 unmatched queen of fashion, which brings me to the painful fact that we will miss those pretty outfits that got her ‘Fashionista’ fans drooling on Urban Tv now that she has left the show. As you may already know, last Friday Ondupara’s live-wire striker and skipper Muhammad Shaban Jagason was voted as the Airtel-FUFA player of the year 2016 beating veteran Goalkeeper Denis Onyango to the gong.
Shaban who received his award at a colourful ceremony held at Speke Resort Munyonyo was overwhelmingly voted for by his ardent fans and fans of his club Onduparaka FC from Arua with a soccer-mad following. He also made it to the FUFA team of the year.
“I am grateful to the fans for voting me and thank God for this award. I did not expect to win but here I am now holding the award which will inspire me to work even harder” Shaban told Chano8 in Munyonyo after receiving his award and keys for his prize – a Lexus car.
Although his win has since generated a lot of debate both in the mainstream and social media, Shaban was out rightly a deserving winner considering the method of selection was through public voting which his fans followed while the so called favourite nominees got fewer votes since their fans either took things for granted and never voted or were simply out numbered. The heroes welcome he got from Westnile yesterday also proves how popular he is.
But first things first, Shaban got on the nomination list on merit considering the talented teenager almost single headedly took the team from Westnile to the Azam Premier league netting 13 goals in the FUFA Big League despite starting the league mid way through.
He followed the excellent scoring form by finishing joint top scorer in the Uganda Cup with 7 goals after guiding his team to the finals at the first attempt beating giants like Sports Club Villa in the process. He was voted the MVP of the Uganda Cup and best player of the Big League.
So far the youngster is also joint top scorer in the Azam Uganda Premier league with 8 goals and has 4 to his name for the Uganda Cranes in the regional tour.
So it is very clear he was not on the list by accident although Onyango who is also nominated in the 2016 CAF Awards in the category of African Footballer of the Year based on the African continent looked like the favourite considering his achievements were bigger especially on the continental stage. Other nominees like Farooq Miya (Standard Liege – Belgium) and Erisa Ssekisambu(Vipers) and Joseph Ochaya (KCCA)were also strong contenders
The Mamelodi Sundowns and Uganda Cranes goalkeeper apart from winning the 2016 CAF Champions League medal with Mamelodi Sundowns also guided the side to their 10th league title and the Ned Bank Cup on top on being named the 2015/2016 Premier Soccer League goalkeeper of the year.
He is the current Uganda Sports Press Association Male Footballer of the year and also a rock in goal for the Cranes as Uganda qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time since 1978 after playing all the six group matches and keeping four clean sheets in the process.
He later conceded defeat and congratulated Shaban for the win. Saying although he is disappointed for not winning, Shaban who celebrated the achievement with a winning goal against The Saints on Saturday, deserved the accolade not only because his fans voted for him, but because he is also a young talented striker doing great things.
